Description

Position Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $80K-$95K (depending on experience)
Work Location: This is a remote position (see on-site requirements below).

**On-Site Requirements: On-boarding will require 1-2 visits to Patuxent River, MD for candidates that are local to the area. Candidates out of state will be onboarded virtually. Training will be virtual and telework maximized/permitted to the greatest extent possible, however for local candidates, training/tasking may require on-site work a few hours per week. Future on-site/telework requirements/schedules may change as additional client direction is received.

 

Essential Functions: This position supports the DECKPLATE program as a Data Analyst for the operations team that is implementing solutions following Agile principles.  Become part of a multi-disciplinary team that is supporting Naval Aviation Logistic IT infrastructure.  Work across a portfolio of web enabled applications (ASP.Net, React, and Java) and databases (Oracle, Sybase, and Teradata) that support Naval Aviation readiness.

  • Gathers, reviews, and analyzes financial data from various databases, systems, reports, presentations, spreadsheets, and other sources.
  • Processes data loads from source systems to prepare to load into data warehouse.
  • Adjust the data load schedule for outages due to scheduled patches, updates, password changes, database maintenance, etc.
  • Assists in the testing of reports and products to ensure accuracy prior to items being released to the production environment.
  • Maintain Production Job schedules and report and execution issues.
  • Monitor data loads; work with developers/System Admins/Database Administrators to resolve and report any issues encountered during data loads.
  • Maintain Production Issue Tracking; create, update, and report on tasks that are outside of software code maintenance, such as research, data fixes and issue analysis.
  • Monitor data extract product and verify proper posting for retrieval, including server space clean-up and account generation for access to retrieve data extracts.
  • Maintain a list of all current jobs/processes executed for DECKPLATE.
  • Maintain the Incident Management Communication Plan that identifies the in-house and DECKPLATE government team POCs for each application and those that are to be notified when problems arise for their application/s.
  • Participate in KanBan, release planning meetings/code reviews, Configuration Control Board meetings.
  • Perform Configuration Management processes on software to be released to include:
    • Attending planning meetings
    • Open/update/close tracking tickets
    • Obtain customer approvals
    • Validate install procedures and package contents
  • Other duties as assigned or required.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

Required:

  • 1 year experience performing data analysis required.
  • MS Word/Excel work experience required.
  • Experience processing and/or analyzing financial data required.
  • Must be a team player and able to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to perform multiple tasks.
  • Excellent written and communication skills required.


Desired:

  • Naval Aviation Maintenance Data knowledge (OOMA/OIMA/DECKPLATE/TD Kits/AIRRS/Engine Management and like databases/applications).
  • Experienced with writing SQL queries.
  • Experience with Jira.
  • Experience with: Collaboration Tools (e.g., JIRA, SharePoint); Databases and ERDs (Oracle, Sybase, Teradata, SQLServer); Software Development Documentation.
  • SQL and database experience desired.


Security Clearance:
Active Secret clearance required. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.


Education:
BS or BA degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, Engineering, Business, or Mathematics is desired.  Equivalent hands-on experience may be substituted.  High School or GED required.
