Essential Functions:

This position supports the DECKPLATE program as a Software Configuration Management / DevOps / Build Engineer for a team of software developers that are architecting and implementing solutions following Agile principles. Become part of a multi-disciplinary team that is supporting Naval Aviation Logistic IT infrastructure. Work across a portfolio of web enabled applications (ASP.net, and Java) and databases (Oracle and Teradata) that support Naval Aviation readiness. 

1. Experience in the following:

  • Automating, building, deploying, and releasing of code from Development to Test, then Prod environments.
  • Developing, fixing, maintaining, and improving software build and release processes.
  • Fully documenting build and release procedures.
  • Implement Continuous Integration and deployment processes for software
  • Assisting with troubleshooting and correction of defects reported during the release process
  • Participating in our Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Software Configuration Management (SCM), and Quality Assurance (QA) processes as an integral member of the team
  • Other duties as assigned or required.


Qualifications and Experience:

Required:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience supporting Software Configuration Management for medium/large-scale software applications, preferably in a commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and/or custom software development environment
  • Familiarity with Subversion (SVN), Git, TFS, CVS or similar code repository and version control tools and concepts.
  • Hands on experience implementing principles and best practices of software configuration management for Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Excellent Communication and presentation skills.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills, self-motivated, dedicated and understanding the complexities of maintenance to systems that are available 24/7.
  • Experienced with Customer Service and Customer satisfaction principles and practices those principles daily.
  • Hands on Experience with Release/Build automation tools
  • Hands on experience in managing all aspects of the software configuration management process including code compilation, packaging, build, deployment, and release methodology
  • Experience in installing, configuring, managing, tracing complex build problems, and release issues.
  • Excellent trouble shooting skills
  • Open to the opportunity of becoming proficient with a range of technical tools, languages, and environments
  • Expertise in Microsoft technology stack components such as Windows Server, Visual Studio, SQL Server, .NET Framework, Web Services, ASP.NET, classic ASP, Korn Shell Scripting


Security Clearance: 
Active Secret and SSBI clearance required. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.  


Education:
BS or BA degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, Engineering, Business, or Mathematics is required.
