Position Type: Full-Time
Work Location: Lexington Park, MD

Essential Functions:

• Oversee the preparation of all necessary financial statements and ensure that all financial reporting is accurate and timely.
• Manage the processing of all account’s payables and receivables, including invoices and payments.
• Provide backup for payroll and ensure that the bi-weekly payroll entries are reviewed for accuracy.
• Monitor the accuracy of financial data and ensure that all financial transactions are properly recorded.
• Analyze financial data for patterns, trends, and anomalies and recommend corrective action as necessary.
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Provide financial guidance and support to department heads and ensure that all financial decisions are in alignment with the organization’s strategic goals.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff.
• Other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications and Experience:

Required:

• Minimum of 8 years of experience.
• Experience with DOD or governement environment.
• Advanced knowledge of GAAP and federal and state tax laws.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Able to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.

Desired:

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license preferred
• Experience in accounting and finance preferred.

Security Clearance:
Must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
