Description

Spalding Consulting, Inc. is seeking an OpenShift (Linux) System Administrator in Patuxent River, MD - Remote Eligible. Spalding Consulting, Inc. is a professional services firm specializing in Information Technology (IT), Program Management, and Financial Management for the Department of Defense, federal agencies, and commercial clients. Position Type: Full-Time


Essential Functions:

  • Plans, designs, develops, implements, and administers OpenShift solutions following DevOps processes
  • Implements infrastructure as code (IaC) using Ansible technology for multiple OpenShift environments, as well as other infrastructure setups. 
  • Develops and promotes standard operations documentation such as technical procedures, checklists, and instructions
  • Conducts proactive performance tuning and provides recommendations for improvement
  • Implements critical system patches and upgrades
  • Other duties as assigned or required


Qualifications and Experience:


Required:

  • At least 3 years of experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
  • At least 1 year of experience with Red Hat Ansible
  • Current CompTIA Security+ certification is required


Desired:

  • Experience providing system administration in a DevOps environment desired
  • Experience with Docker containers desired
  • Knowledge of DISA STIGS and Security Policies desired


Qualifications for Remote Eligibility:
Telecommute/Remote Eligible if greater than 50 miles from Patuxent River, MD but within the DC/MD/VA/PA/WV area (must onboard at Patuxent River for 2 weeks; must be willing to work onsite at Patuxent River at least 2 days per week).

Security Clearance:
Active TS/SSBI clearance desired. Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SSBI required.


Education:
BS or BA degree in Computer Science, Information Systems/Technology, Engineering, Business, or Mathematics preferred.
