Description

Position Type: Full Time
Work Location: This is a remote position (see on-site requirements below).

**On-Site Requirements: On-boarding will require 1-2 visits to Patuxent River, MD for candidates that are local to the area. Candidates out of state will be onboarded virtually. Training will be virtual and telework maximized/permitted to the greatest extent possible, however for local candidates, training/tasking may require on-site work a few hours per week. Future on-site/telework requirements/schedules may change as additional client direction is received.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Contribute to several software-related project functions for our NAVAIR customer by supporting Agile and Dev/Ops implementation activities; collaborate between self-organizing and cross-functional teams
  • Adhere to software coding standards to ensure software quality and cyber security rules/regulations; utilize development tools to update tasks and stories, check-in, and version control
  • Provide software engineering support by developing CI/CD pipelines according to application/project needs
  • Respond to operational production pipeline failures and implement solutions
  • Monitor and support cyber security compliance scans
  • Configure/maintain deployment packages
  • Apply improvements to automated jobs
  • Participate in a highly functioning development team utilizing agile methodologies combined with modern DevSecOps software practices
  • Create/develop software engineering documentation such as Architecture and Infrastructure Diagrams, Feasibility Studies, and Alternative of Analysis Reports
  • Support daily stand-up meetings
  • The ideal candidate will have outstanding problem solving and critical thinking skills with desire to continuously learn and apply new skills and technologies
  •  Other duties as assigned or required.

 

Qualifications and Experience:


Required:

  • Experience with Agile & DevOps methodology and culture
  • Experience with Git, Jenkins, Gradle, or similar DevSecOps technologies
  • Experience with configuration management tools
  • Experience with standard automated deployment type tools (Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, etc.)
  • Experience building microservice apps for Docker/Kubernetes or similar containerization platforms
  • CompTIA Security+ certification
  • Excellent verbal and written skills




Desired:

  • Experience with scanning software such as Twistlock, SonarQube, or HP Fortify



Security Clearance:
Active Secret clearance required. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.


Education:
BS or BA technical degree (Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, Mathematics, Management or Relevant Technical Discipline) and 5 years related experience OR AS or AA degree and 7 years related experience OR HS and 9 years related experience.
