**On-Site Requirements: Candidates are required to be local to the Cherry Point, NC area. On-boarding will be completed virtually. Training will be virtual and telework maximized/permitted to the greatest extent possible, candidates will be required to be in-person, on-site for some amount of time on a regular basis (currently 1 day a week). Future on-site/telework requirements/schedules may change as additional client direction is received.  

Essential Functions:

Spalding is looking for a software developer to become part of a multifaceted and dynamic team supporting the US Naval Aviation community. The Developer will implement user stories, participate in significant design decision discussions, assist in sprint planning and work with junior members of the staff in a mentoring role, lead meetings with stakeholders and customers, respond to stakeholder and customer issues, and develop strong relationships with the user base. The team uses modern design patterns, technologies, frameworks, and concepts to create a dynamic, enjoyable, and high-performance environment. Collaboration and coordination with cross-functional teams is encouraged. Other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications and Experience:


Required:

• At least six (6) years’ experience developing software solutions using programming languages such as Java, C#, or C++.
• Relational database experience is required with database platforms such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, or MySQL.
• CompTIA Security+ certification OR the ability to obtain within 30 days of job offer.

Desired:

• Experience with Cold Fusion
• PL/SQL scripting experience
• MS SQL Server Studio experience
• Experience in web constructs such as HTML, HTML, XML, and CSS is preferred.
•  Experience working with Application Lifecycle and Configuration and Knowledge Management software (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket) is highly desired.
• Experience with Agile Methodology is a plus.
• Experience proactively interacting with stakeholders, users, and customers.

Security Clearance:
Active Secret clearance required. Requirements to obtain a clearance include US Citizenship, security investigation, etc.

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related discipline is desired. Commensurate experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
