Job Description: The IT Systems Database Administrator will serve as the lead responsible for the planning, development, implementation and administration of the weapons platforms IT systems for the acquisition, storage, and retrieval of data in support of acquisition and sustainment operations.

  • Analyze and define data requirements and specifications then design, normalize, develop, install and implement database solutions in support of those data requirements.
  • Design, develop, and implement data mining, data warehousing, and related data storage and retrieval capabilities for supported platforms.
  • Maintenance and monitoring of platform databases including tuning, backup, and recovery operations for assigned systems as well as installs, configures and maintains database management systems software.
  • Perform capacity planning, installation, configuration, database design, migration, performance monitoring, security, troubleshooting, backups and data recovery of supported platform databases.
  • Ensure information security (IS) and information assurance (IA) policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of systems administration services.
  • Develop and maintain systems security certifications accreditation requirements and processes at appropriate levels to certify supported platform systems and or maintain network accreditation/s.
  • Develops and implements data mining and data warehousing programs, and evaluates and provides recommendations on new database technologies and architectures.

  • Provides the IT workload management, Lifecycle documentation, process identification development and adherence; requirements development, software development and testing; hosting facilities requirements; program expansion requirements, and IT Governance compliance.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum of five years’ experience in systems and database administration required.
  • Experience in leading multiple development projects within a DoD environment required.
  • Teamcenter experience required.
  • CAMEO and/or CATIA applications experience is desired.
  • Windows and/or Unix Operating Systems experience desired.

Security Clearance: Candidates must be eligible to obtain a Secret clearance. Applicant selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Education: A Bachelor's in Computer Science or Information Systems/Technology desired. IAT/IAM Level I Certification (e.g., CompTIA Security +, CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+) is required.
